At Beautologie Scottsdale, you can count on the experience and expertise of our staff, from the first moment you walk through the door. Whatever your reason for considering breast augmentation, whether for reconstruction, to increase overall size, make sagging breasts fuller, or simply make them more symmetrical, we can help. Our plastic and reconstructive surgeons, Dr. Sabeeh, Dr. Walsh and Dr. Yao will sit down with you during your initial consultation and educate you on the breast augmentation procedure, including your various options. We will also examine your medical history, take comprehensive measurements of your breasts, and have you feel different implants so that you can make an informed decision as to the size that works best with your frame and preferences.  After your surgery, you’ll be given explicit instructions on how to care for yourself during the healing process and you’ll be scheduled for follow-up visits so we can make sure that everything is going well. To help you budget for your surgery, we offer up to 12 months of financing. Our surgeons are among the top in their field, so you can feel confident that you are getting no less than the best care. Prior to your surgery, one of our surgeons will assist you in making some decisions about your procedure. To begin with, there are various techniques for inserting your implants; however, we generally recommend having them placed through the inframammary incision (the fold underneath the breast) as opposed to some of the other methods, such as through the armpit, nipple, or belly button.

Secondly, you will need to decide on saline or silicone implants. Saline implants are filled with sterile saltwater, the amount of which can be manipulated to affect the shape, firmness, and feel of the breast. If a saline implant should rupture or leak, it will simply collapse, and the saline will be safely absorbed and naturally expelled by the body; because of this, saline implants require fewer on-going, post-operative visits. Another benefit is that saline implants are not pre-filled, which enables easier and less invasive insertion.

Silicone implants, on the other hand, are filled with an elastic gel that feels and moves more like natural breast tissue. However, if a silicone implant ruptures or leaks, while the gel may remain within the implant shell, it may also escape into the implant pocket. For this reason, if you choose gel (silicone) implants, you may need to visit the office more regularly to make sure your implants are functioning properly.

Once you have decided to proceed with your surgery, we will schedule a time that is convenient for you at one of the multiple, accredited surgery centers with which our surgeons are affiliated. The procedure itself will only take approximately an hour to an hour and a half, and you will be comfortably under general anesthesia. During the surgery, your implants will be placed submuscularly (beneath the muscle) and the incision closed using sutures located underneath the skin to minimize scarring. In most cases, you will be able to go home the day of the procedure, accompanied by a friend or relative who should remain with you for the first 24 hours. Before you leave, your surgeon will prescribe medications to control the pain as well as antibiotics to prevent infection.
